From Our President
October 2017 - Theology is crucial. Without solid biblical teaching, cults emerge and heresies creep into the church. But theology alone doesn’t change people. The God behind theology changes people.
September 2017 - One day, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11)…but until then, our goal isn’t to convert every person to Christianity. That wasn’t the task our Lord gave to us in what we refer to as the Great Commission.
August 2017 - The reports we’re receiving from our ministry partners on the field continue to confirm an exciting fact: revival is happening in the unlikeliest places.
July 2017 - When we were blind to the truth, our Savior opened our eyes. When we were dead in our transgressions—helpless to save ourselves—our Savior saved us.
June 2017 - For more than 60 years, Christian Aid Mission has diligently searched for and vetted indigenous ministries that are taking the time to make true disciples. They don’t just preach and leave. They stay and cultivate the soil so the seed takes root.
May 2017 - You and I cannot see what God is doing behind the scenes, in response to our prayers, but we know: "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16 NKJV). Don't give up. Keep persevering in prayer. You're making a difference.
April 2017 - In 2 Chronicles 16:9, we read: “For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” (NASB) Since 1953, Christian Aid Mission supporters like you have helped us search the world over to find people whose hearts are “completely His.” I’m talking about dedicated native missionaries, quietly building God’s Kingdom among their own people in lands of deep poverty.
March 2017 - Thank you for your generous gifts for refugees. Every dollar you’ve sent for this cause has gone to native missionaries in the Middle East who are working tirelessly to share aid and the hope of Christ with hurting, destitute people. And I want you to know that your investment is paying off. God is going after those refugees, meeting them away from home, many in foreign lands. And He is using you to reach them like never before.
February 2017 - Today we witness the unprecedented opportunity to pray and provide for native missionary workers who are clinging to Christ in the darkest places and bringing His life to desperate, imprisoned souls. The Lord cannot stop moving His Life and glory from tribe to tribe, nation to nation, people group to hidden people group. He is on the move until a people from every nation exalts His name.
January 2017 - As you invest in God's kingdom, your gifts empower native workers to fulfill the Great Comission. You fuel the finishing of the task in nation after nation.
December 2016 - As servants of the Living God, our economic priorities are different than those of the world. We don’t seek to build earthly kingdoms, we seek to build a heavenly Kingdom, made with living stones. Because you give to Christian Aid Mission, living stones are daily being added to the Kingdom. People from formerly unreached people groups are now lifting praise to the Father.
November 2016 - God gave my husband, Dr. Bob Finley, insight to understand that establishing a witness for our Lord in every nation had to come through indigenous missions. These faithful Christ-followers, familiar with the language and culture of their own region, courageously share the love and message of Jesus Christ among people in areas hostile to Christianity. Thank you for joining us for the journey. We press on toward finishing the task. In fact, the opportunities today surpass anything I’ve seen in my life or since the beginning of Christian Aid Mission.
October 2016 - Native missionaries pray the prayers that rise as a fragrant offering to the Lord—that unreached tribes and nations would be reached with the saving love, power and grace of God through Christ our Lord—the only worthy One.
September 2016 - Our Lord leads perfectly. He works ahead of schedule, and in those moments when we’re waiting, He is moving and working behind the scenes. He knows the seasons. As we listen and act upon His divine appointments—even when it seems impossible or we don’t understand—we can see Him transform nations.
August 2016 - When the Giver—the Lord—lives in you, He gives through you. He first gives to you, then through you. He knows no limits. He reaches you wherever you are and then reaches through your life to bless the needy and impoverished, both physically and spiritually.
July 2016 - Our Africa division director recently visited indigenous ministries we assist in Africa. The native leaders and missionaries working among animist and Muslim tribes in largely unreached regions have determined in their hearts to give their lives for the gospel, no matter the cost. Some gospel workers have served multiple prison terms, but they are not living for their own comfort or glory.
June 2016 - The Scriptures tell us that the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him (2 Chron. 16:9). Christian Aid Mission serves as His eyes for indigenous ministries. We search the world for those ministries who are reaching the remaining unreached peoples.
May 2016 - Your extravagant, sacrificial giving inspires me. You truly love our Lord Jesus and the native missionaries He has placed in the field. They lay down their lives for the gospel. Through your generosity, you do, too. I want to share a story of sacrificial giving with you.
April 2016 - When I think of the way you give to indigenous missions through Christian Aid, I think of a gardener sowing seeds in the most fertile soil. I think of a wise planter, envisioning the day of harvest, yet patient enough to watch the seeds grow—to water and nourish the tender shoots—much as the Lord does with our own lives.
March 2016 - When the Lord calls: “Whom shall I send? Who will go for Us?” (Isaiah 6:8)—native missionaries respond, “Here am I; send me!” And by helping them go, you become a co-worker of the gospel and an answer to their cry!
February 2016 - Thank you for your investment in the lives of native missionaries. Many of you gave through our Christmas catalog. Your gifts mean everything to those on the frontlines of missions. Because of your generosity, indigenous ministries can provide pure drinking water for the thirsty, food for the hungry, clothes and blankets for vulnerable children and Bibles for new believers.
January 2016 - All fruitfulness flows from hearts saturated in prayer. We see this daily in the lives of native missionaries, who face horrendous terrorist attacks, overwhelming poverty, destructive natural disasters and tormenting persecutions. Prayer transforms hearts and communities. Prayer shifts attitudes and the atmospheres over cities and nations. Prayer changes everything.
December 2015 - As Christmas draws near, we remember the greatest gift of all, a gift that never fades, pales, rusts, wears out or burns out; an eternal gift, lavish in sacrifice and love, abundant in joy and hope. Christ our Lord—the Living Word of God—became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14).
November 2015 - Our hearts are burning with powerful testimonies of our Lord’s Kingdom advancing among the nations through pioneer missionaries—men and women of God who blaze a trail for the gospel where it has not been known, no matter the cost. Consider Resham, born into a family of Hindu priests in Nepal. His son, Anugraha, told us about him in our Chapel service.
October 2015 - Kitikoon Prasertsee gazed over the room of about 50 staff members and guests gathered for our weekly chapel meeting. We had worshiped the Lord and prayed, and now this steadfast indigenous ministry leader from Laos implored Christian Aid Mission to keep standing at the gate, like Mordechai in the book of Esther, to support the frontline native missionaries who suffer persecution in this Buddhist country for the Word of God and their testimony.
September 2015 - Did you ever consider that you are God’s treasury for the Lord’s end-time harvest and the greatest revival of all time? I realize this more and more as I contemplate the testimonies of native missionaries who visit us and speak at our weekly chapel meetings. They are focused on the Lord’s mission to have a witness for His name in every nation. They are about their Father’s business, and they pay any price to see the gospel reach every people. God calls us to partner with His hands and feet in harvest fields all over the world. His arm is not too short to save—and missionaries native to their lands are most effective.
July 2015 - What do your feet look like? It’s summer. Are they beautiful? What about the feet of native gospel workers who trek mountain paths to reach a primitive tribe with the gospel? They may look like ginger root, but the Lord calls them beautiful.
June 2015 - With a heavy heart I ask you to pray fervently for Nepal, where a magnitude 7.8 earthquake
shattered the lives of thousands of people in and around Kathmandu April 25.
April 2015 - Change is in the air . . . and now in your hands. April 1 marks a new day for Christian Aid Mission as we unveil our new look . . . a new Prayerline, a new logo, a new website, a new way of communicating with our friends – like you – who enable us to assist the indigenous ministries who diligently share the gospel of Christ around the world.
March 2015 - We could never do this alone. God gives a vision, raises up workers, and calls a team from across the world to execute His plans. He didn’t intend for any one of us to do it alone—especially missions work. There are no Lone Rangers in God’s Kingdom.
February 2015 - We see the needs of those on the frontlines of ministry, and we rejoice at the mighty mountains they are conquering in Christ—with the help you send.
January 2015 - A new year brings new beginnings, goals and vision. Yet we remain faithful to our roots.
December 2014 - We marvel at the Lord’s provision for the desperate needs in the world this last year. Through your prayers and giving the gospel is advancing in the most difficult areas.
November 2014 - Christmas is coming: a season of feasts, gifts and giving. But our Lord Jesus truly is the greatest gift, and Christmas to a native missionary means harvest time. Perhaps you have seen what happens when a heart opens to receive the Lord. Peace moves in; a countenance changes. Bondages fall. Hope rises. Joy overcomes. A life is transformed.
October 2014 - Our hearts ache as we witness horrendous acts of Biblical proportions in the Middle East.
September 2014 - Recently James G. Cuffee traveled from Liberia and shared with our staff. I want to introduce him to you. The radiance of the Lord shined through him, and we were encouraged by his testimony of God’s grace and power in the midst of the devastation his nation experienced during the war years of 1990 to 2003 and the Ebola crisis raging right now.
August 2014 - Christian Aid just crossed the 62 year mark. We have assisted indigenous ministries through trial and perseverance, often like a voice calling in the wilderness on behalf of those ministering in their own nations. But now other mission organizations are beginning to agree that the way to reach the most hidden people is through indigenous missions. This is what the Lord showed my husband, Bob Finley, 62 years ago. And we have been faithful to the vision.
July 2014 - Ministries begin and grow with steps of faith. Some arise from inspiration and the persistent urging of the Holy Spirit; others develop because faithful souls find themselves surrounded by desperately needy people.
June 2014 - Bearing the scars of beatings while in prison for his faith, Paul* and his wife Lydia* visited and shared their stories with us. We stand amazed at all the Lord has done in Nepal since Paul´s mentor, Prem, brought the gospel into the Hindu Kingdom of Nepal in 1951. Today it is estimated that there are 2 million Christians there because of those early believers who persevered in a nation previously untouched by the good news of justification by faith in Christ. Paul and Lydia carried on and expanded Prem´s work, continuing his focus on evangelism and preparing the next generation of leaders.
May 2014 - For more than 60 years we have co-labored with men and women across the globe who are ministering in their own villages and cities among their own people. They live lives fully surrendered to Christ as they reach out to those who never have heard the name of our Lord Jesus. Many face persecution for the sake of the gospel, and we are honored to hold up the arms of those on the frontlines in missions.
April 2014 - During the first week of March, Christian Aid sent out an e-alert with the urgent request for prayer and assistance to those suffering in the aftermath of violent clashes between demonstrators and police in Kiev, Ukraine´s capital city. Bonfires burning in downtown Kiev were barely extinguished before another firestorm developed in Crimea, where Russian troops took control.
March 2014 - Brothers and sisters, following Christ means warfare. Through our publications we are making known to you the suffering and victories of the saints. These are real people like you and me who are either caught between battling factions in civil wars, hated for shaming a village spirit, not protected by a nation’s internal security forces, or hunted down for the Word of God and the testimony which they hold.
February 2014 - Consider the power that goes out when we use the enclosed Prayerline in our daily devotions. We are uniting in Christ as we pray together for the requests made by these humble missionary workers each day of the month. This last week would have been one that would have “dismayed” all of us here at Christian Aid when we learned a much loved young Kenyan pastor, Ezekiel Lenato, was murdered while serving our Lord. But our sadness is tempered by the fruit of his ministry and our confidence that Ezekiel has now joined those under the altar crying “How long, O Lord” as in Revelation 6:9-11.
January 2014 - On November 8, 2013, the strongest recorded storm to reach land, Typhoon Haiyan, slammed into the central provinces of the Philippine Islands. Ten million people were affected by the devastation with over 5,000 Filipinos dead and the rest left homeless or displaced. The challenge now is to rebuild.
December 2013 - For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). These words foretelling the birth of Jesus bring hope to all who hear them. This is a time when the world needs hope. Your prayers and gifts give hope.
November 2013 - One reason why Christian Aid exists is to serve as a link between Christ’s family in affluent America and our fellow believers in the poorest places on earth, or those that are persecuted for His sake.
October 2013 - Because of the immense human tragedy and unprecedented openness to the gospel among the refugees, Syria has become a significant focus to us as I’m sure it has to many of you. As a mission, we can’t change the conflicts that have led to one of the bloodiest civil wars in decades, but we can help the victims.
September 2013 - Jesus chose poor fishermen and a despised tax collector to change the culture–engaging the non-establishment crowd in personal mentorship. Even less established are the children, who will be God’s agents to transform cultures in the near future.
August 2013 - When we lost our Africa Director of 20 years, we began praying for a new Africa Director. Though we as believers request help from God as we pray in faith, it is still amazing at how superbly He answers.
