About Burundi

Burundi is a mountainous, fertile country on the northeast shore of Lake Tanganyika, south of its twin Rwanda. Burundi is home to 12 People Groups, 3 of whom are considered unreached by the Joshua Project. Many missionaries struggle against prostitution and witchcraft.

Christian Aid supports indigenous workers who bring healing and salvation to Burundi´s tormented population and those who feel called to minister to the Twa pygmy tribe, an illiterate and impoverished people. They have established a small factory among the Twa people to give them the opportunity to enrich the material and spiritual lives of this tribe.
