GUJARAT. Native missionaries fasted 21 days to see starving children in a Hindu village grow in health and faith. On their knees workers sought a breakthrough of hope in the lives of children too malnourished to go to school.
Weary, weak and anemic, these children couldn’t endure the walk; some would faint on the way. Those who made it just stared listlessly beneath the sound of the teacher’s voice.
GUJARAT. Hundreds of women make the trek from remote villages to attend a Christian women’s retreat in Gujarat. They thirst for the Lord and long for time set apart with Him for prayer and discipleship.
Many more women would come, but the distance is too great. So the leader of the indigenous women’s ministry plans to take these retreats to village gospel centers in nine areas so more women in this Hindu state may receive training in the Lord ...
