About Macedonia

Macedonia is a landlocked Balkan country which is home to 23 People Groups, 10 of whom remain unreached according to the Joshua Project. The indigenous evangelical groups focus on reaching the historically persecuted minorities of their country such as the Albanians and Gypsies who receive only scorn from the established Orthodox Church. The Albanians represent 25% of Macedonia´s population and are primarily unevangelized Muslims who are struggling for a greater say in Macedonia´s future. The Gypsies are very poor and follow a blending of Islam and folk superstition; Macedonia possesses one of the largest Gypsy communities in the Western world.
