About Mozambique

Mozambique is a southern African country and a former Portuguese colony criss-crossed by 25 rivers. It is home to 62 People Groups, 9 of whom remain unreached according to the Joshua Project. Mozambique decided to become a Marxist-Leninist state at independence and then descended into a brutal civil war between Marxist splinter groups; this civil war has devastated the country to this day. Christianity continues to grow in Mozambique and indigenous missionaries are bringing the Gospel to many coastal tribes who were converted to Islam by Arab slavers.
