Sudanese Arab: 12,993,000
Sudan was the largest African country until the South split from the North. It is home to 163 People Groups, 132 of whom remain unreached according to the Joshua Project. Sudan has a strongly Arabic Muslim population who have committed genocidal acts upon the Christian and Animist communities located to their south. South Sudan formally declared its independence in July 2011 but violence continues.
SUDAN. War caused Athian Garang to flee to Ethiopia at age seven. From there, Fidel Castro took 600 Sudanese boys to Cuba to indoctrinate and send them back to Africa as Communist “missionaries.” Instead, Garang met Christ and was ejected from the program.
