May 5, 2010 - In SRI LANKA, native missionaries spend many hours traveling by foot to villages to share the gospel, plant churches and disciple new believers. A ministry in NEPAL, started in 2000, develops and trains church leaders. Massive Flooding Affects Thousands in Kenya, Parts of Uganda, Tanzania

March 18, 2010 - Approximately 10,000 people in northern Kenya have been displaced by flooding, with hundreds of animals drowned or missing, and many houses and businesses submerged. At least 17 people have died in the floods. Read more.

More Violence in Nigeria: Fulani Muslims Slaughter Hundreds, Mostly Women and Children

March 9, 2010 - The following report was sent to Rae Burnett, Africa Director for Christian Aid Mission, by Gabriel Barau, the leader of Missionary Crusaders Ministries in Nigeria. The Jos community, still in recovery mode from Januarys violence, was awakened at 2 a.m. on March 7 by Fulani Muslims who set fire to houses and vehicles, and butchered or shot those who tried to escape. They killed over 500 people, mostly women and children. Read more.

Christians in Chile need help to recover from massive earthquake.

March 2, 2010 - Some 2 million people in Chile were affected in one way or another by the fifth most powerful earthquake in the last 100 years. The strong tremors began early Saturday morning with an 8.8 magnitude quake followed by more than 90 aftershocks. As of Monday, March 1 over 700 people were reported dead, with more than 540 deaths in the Maule region, along the southern coast. It was reported that over 500,000 homes sustained considerable damage. Read more.

Floods in India and Southeast Asia Leave Millions Homeless

October 6, 2009 - On Saturday, September 26, Tropical Storm Ketsana, known as Typhoon Ondoy, dropped 16 inches of rain in 12 hours, flooding parts of the Philippines, leaving hundreds are dead or missing and more than a million homeless. On Wednesday, September 30, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake hit the Indonesian city of Padang, trapping thousands under debris, with more than a thousand dead and perhaps 90,000 homes destroyed. As of October 6, 2009, it is estimated that 270 people were killed due to flooding in the southern Indian States of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Another 2.5 million are homeless seeking refuge in government-run relief camps. Read more.
