Unreached and Waiting

The horizon that indigenous missionaries saw evoked the unknown as they approached villagers who had yet to hear the gospel in Burma (Myanmar). Whether by boat, motorcycle or on foot, native missionaries travel to remote, jungle mountains to bring food, equipment for water wells and the message of Christ's salvation. The ministry director said that sometimes as many as 200 people from various villages attend three-day gospel events where lunch and dinner are served at a cost of about $200 per day. "Sometimes we kill a pig, sometimes a cow, and we feed them," the director said. "In some places there are no believers, so our missionaries stay there for one to three nights to share the gospel, and then they come back. If we have new believers, they follow up and help to meet their needs."
