Native missionaries on horses

A Good Traveling Companion

Missionaries who visit isolated villages in the jungle terrain of western Colombia do not have the luxury of automobiles and paved roads. Even motorcycles are not practical in some areas. That leaves horses as the best mode of transportation for crossing rocky paths, thick underbrush, and flowing streams. Christian Aid Mission provided funds for the Lord´s Vineyard of Colombia to purchase several horses last year (as well as a motorized canoe and motorcycle), but more animals are needed. A horse costs approximately $500. The ministry held a weeklong Bible training conference earlier this year that was attended by 900 people, including children. The event was open to pastors, Sunday school teachers, women´s ministry groups, youth, and anyone who wished to participate in the sessions. Some people traveled three days to reach the training center.
