Dark Days

Residents evaluate dangers in the aftermath of a bombing in Aleppo, Syria, by Syrian government forces at a market in the al-Ma'adi neighborhood in July. Government and rebel forces, including Islamic extremist groups such as the Islamic State (ISIS), have been engaged in fierce fighting for the key city as Christian ministries try to meet the needs of those who have lost loved ones, housing and food. "Aleppo is facing very terrible days," said the native director of a ministry working in the city. "For the last 16 days there has been no water and electricity." The ministry provides food parcels, among other aid, for surviving families. "For the past two months we haven't had support, and yet the needs are still great," the director said. "Please continue to pray for Syria and for Aleppo specifically, so God can do a miracle and give them peace."
