Children displaced by war in Syria.

New Neighbors in Need

Children displaced by war in Syria are in need of food and medicine in the seaside town of Tartus, where hundreds of thousands of people have fled war and atrocities by Islamic terrorists such as the Islamic State (ISIS). An indigenous ministry in the area plans to send 15 trained workers to displaced people's tents and shanties with food, medicine and the gospel to plant a church. "Assistance with food and medicine is an ongoing need," the ministry director said. "As part of their outreach, indigenous missionaries will provide food, medical care, and other necessities as the Lord provides." Food bags for outreach to newly arrived Muslims and other displaced people cost $65 each, and the ministry plans to distribute 60 each month for a year. (file photo)
