Sponsor A Missionary

You can personally support a full-time missionary.

The amount needed to support each missionary varies according to country, location, and family status. For example, living costs are higher in the Middle East than in Mexico; Mexico is higher than India. Workers in larger cities need more support than those in rural villages; married men need more than single workers. So while $50 per month is barely adequate in a few areas, much more is needed in other places. Christian Aid seeks to find sponsors for native missionaries at $50 per month. In most cases where it takes more than that, several sponsors are sought. Each individual or church which sends $50 or more monthly will be assigned a missionary for whom they can pray.

How to begin

To begin experiencing the joy of sponsorship yourself, visit our Sponsorship page to complete our online form or go to the bottom of this page to add to your shopping cart. Or send your first check to Christian Aid to receive your assignment.

What you will receive

Christian Aid will send you the name, photo and biographical sketch of the one assigned to you, as well as information about the indigenous ministry responsible. We will also send you updates on the one you sponsor as they become available (once or twice each year).

Especially needed is support for missionaries working in areas where North American missionaries cannot go. In places like China, the Middle East or certain critical areas in Southeast Asia, names and photos of the missionaries are sometimes supplied, but sending biographical information and worker reports outside the country can jeopardize the worker.

How your gift will be used

Your monthly gifts will be sent to the indigenous mission in charge of the one you sponsor. They will be combined with those of others to provide for the missionaries within their group.

Pray for your missionary

Pray each day by name for the person whose picture you hold in your hands. You will have the deep satisfaction of knowing that your gifts help meet the needs of that fervent missionary in an area where you probably could never go as a foreign missionary.

Your missionary may never know the one who sends his or her support - only that his or her needs are being met in answer to prayer. Missionaries only know that the Lord supplies their needs.

How sponsored missionary won 300 souls for Christ

When Madan came to the Lord, he was an illiterate tribal living in a mud hut. He wanted to become a gospel preacher and begged the missionaries to teach him to read. Then he began preaching the gospel to his tribes people, effectively using real-life illustrations to show people the way of Christ.

As a farm laborer, he was living at a subsistence level. A donor began sending a monthly gift through Christian Aid. This provided the first substantial cash income in his life. Next the sponsor supplied a bicycle. This allowed him to evangelize more villages. Soon he had won 300 of his tribe to Christ!

A testimony

"We just want to thank you for the picture and history of the young missionary we are supporting. I wept tears of gratitude that our heavenly Father is allowing us the privilege of helping in His work."

--So writes a Californian who provides support for a native missionary in India.

Thousands of God-loving people in America are helping to provide full support for an effective, full-time missionary through Christian Aid. This is because Christian Aid helps indigenous ministries which send out missionaries who are native to their areas. They are already on the field and know the language and customs of the people.

Christian Aid seeks to establish a witness for our Lord Jesus among unreached people groups
by assisting highly effective native missionaries who already know the languages and culture
and are getting the job done for less cost.
