Embarking on a Mission

A team of indigenous missionaries in Burma (also called Myanmar) boards a boat in order to proclaim the message of Christ's salvation to a tribe in a remote village. The indigenous ministry conducts gospel tours and discipleship seminars in various areas, teaching and preaching for five days at a time. The ministry director said one former student who has worked in a village for two years recently established a new church there. "There are 13 families who accepted the Lord as their Savior," he said. "Praise God for His wonderful work. They would like to have a church building and have reserved a piece of land for the church yard. We prayed for them for the new building at the site."

Christian Aid Mission is a 60-year-old non-profit organization that equips native missionaries around the world. We serve as a non-denominational foreign mission board that assists more than 500 ministries overseas with tens of thousands of indigenous or native missionaries in the field. These ministries are currently engaging more than 1,000 unreached people groups in more than 100 countries around the world. Our mission is to establish a witness for our Lord in every tribe and nation (Matthew 24:14) by assisting highly effective native missionaries and our focus is on reaching the unreached for Christ in areas in the world where there is no witness for Christ, where foreign missionaries are not allowed, or where Christians suffer because of poverty or persecution. Christian Aid Mission is generally considered to be the first U.S. organization to assist and promote native missionaries overseas. Since 1997, Christian Aid has been a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).
