Operation Restore Sight

A refugee from Syria at an unofficial camp in southern Turkey holds her 1-year-old son; she showed members of a ministry based in Turkey a doctor's report saying he needed eye surgery. "She was crying as she said that in the hospital nobody wanted to talk to them since they don't speak Turkish," the ministry leader said. "She doesn't know where to go and who to talk to. She said she was praying for us because we are not Muslim, yet we are helping them more than those who call themselves Muslim." As the ministry provides diapers, baby formula, food and other badly needed items, the refugees come to respect team members and welcome them into their tents. "Their daily needs are urgent, and most people are in misery," he said. "We try to meet their daily needs and also tell them about Christ. They are not only hungry for food but also hungry and thirsty for the word of God."

Christian Aid Mission is a 60-year-old non-profit organization that equips native missionaries around the world. We serve as a non-denominational foreign mission board that assists more than 500 ministries overseas with tens of thousands of indigenous or native missionaries in the field. These ministries are currently engaging more than 1,000 unreached people groups in more than 100 countries around the world. Our mission is to establish a witness for our Lord in every tribe and nation (Matthew 24:14) by assisting highly effective native missionaries and our focus is on reaching the unreached for Christ in areas in the world where there is no witness for Christ, where foreign missionaries are not allowed, or where Christians suffer because of poverty or persecution. Christian Aid Mission is generally considered to be the first U.S. organization to assist and promote native missionaries overseas. Since 1997, Christian Aid has been a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Missions Insider Report is a free email report from Christian Aid, your link to indigenous missionary ministries based in poorer countries overseas, or where evangelical Christians are a persecuted minority. Please pray for these and other indigenous ministries.
