Surviving the Last Days

Unable to work due to age-related illnesses, elderly Syrian refugees in Turkey are almost entirely dependent on aid for their survival. At the same time, untreated cataracts are increasingly taking vision away from them as they are too poor to obtain medical care. An indigenous ministry providing relief items to Syrian refugees in tent camps that are springing up in Turkey seeks assistance to connect more refugees with doctors. "The wife of one elderly man is taking care of him, but he cannot walk," the indigenous ministry director said. "He's always slipping on the floor, and he's lost vision in two eyes because of cataracts. He also has arthritis." The ministry seeks funds to provide prescriptions and medical care as well as food, clean water and other aid to keep refugees as healthy as possible.

Christian Aid Mission is a 60-year-old non-profit organization that equips native missionaries around the world. We serve as a non-denominational foreign mission board that assists more than 500 ministries overseas with tens of thousands of indigenous or native missionaries in the field. These ministries are currently engaging more than 1,000 unreached people groups in more than 100 countries around the world. Our mission is to establish a witness for our Lord in every tribe and nation (Matthew 24:14) by assisting highly effective native missionaries and our focus is on reaching the unreached for Christ in areas in the world where there is no witness for Christ, where foreign missionaries are not allowed, or where Christians suffer because of poverty or persecution. Christian Aid Mission is generally considered to be the first U.S. organization to assist and promote native missionaries overseas. Since 1997, Christian Aid has been a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Missions Insider Report is a free email report from Christian Aid, your link to indigenous missionary ministries based in poorer countries overseas, or where evangelical Christians are a persecuted minority. Please pray for these and other indigenous ministries.
