Huddled and Waiting

Displaced Iraqis awaiting aid are among the many people to whom an indigenous ministry is delivering free Bibles during the Christmas season, including people in newly liberated areas after the defeat this month of Islamic State terrorists. "Christmas is the best time of the year in Iraq to offer the Bibles to all people," the director of an indigenous ministry said. "More public schools asked us to give gifts and the Bible with an explanation of what Christmas was and what happened at the birth of Christ. Hospitals have requested special programs to offer patients Christmas gifts and pray for them. Iraqi state television will broadcast documentary films about the life of Christ, and the shops and streets are full of lights and Christmas trees." Indigenous missionaries are praying to be able to buy 50,000 Bibles, New Testaments and children's Bibles to give away; please consider a gift to help provide them.

Christian Aid Mission is a 60-year-old non-profit organization that equips native missionaries around the world. We serve as a non-denominational foreign mission board that assists more than 500 ministries overseas with tens of thousands of indigenous or native missionaries in the field. These ministries are currently engaging more than 1,000 unreached people groups in more than 100 countries around the world. Our mission is to establish a witness for our Lord in every tribe and nation (Matthew 24:14) by assisting highly effective native missionaries and our focus is on reaching the unreached for Christ in areas in the world where there is no witness for Christ, where foreign missionaries are not allowed, or where Christians suffer because of poverty or persecution. Christian Aid Mission is generally considered to be the first U.S. organization to assist and promote native missionaries overseas. Since 1997, Christian Aid has been a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Missions Insider Report is a free email report from Christian Aid, your link to indigenous missionary ministries based in poorer countries overseas, or where evangelical Christians are a persecuted minority. Please pray for these and other indigenous ministries.
