Persecution in India Continues

May 22, 2008

Incidents against Christians become more and more frequent.

Christian Aid continually receives reports of native missionaries suffering from persecution in various states of India. These two are from Bihar:

In March ministry leader Abraham reported that he had recently discovered that Hindu extremists had a meeting on May 11, where they made plans to attack a local church and also disturb the believers individually. In addition, they are planning a grand meeting in Kaptanganj for reconverting the believers to Hinduism. Pray for protection of God´s people in this area.

Hindu extremists are rising up against Christians. Brother David and his missionary team, including his wife, were severely beaten during a campaign in a school at Hajipur. After doing this, the militants went to the police station and lodged a complaint against Brother David. However, as of this writing, the police have not contacted the ministry.
