More Flooding in Kenya

Flooding and the famine which always follows are continual problems throughout the African Continent. The past two years have seen an even greater level of devastation in most countries from East to West Africa. The following letter is to Rae Burnett, Africa Director of Christian Aid, from one of many of these ministries ministering in the midst of suffering.

Dear Sister Rae,

Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We are desperately in need of your prayers and any help you can send us. It is raining heavily in Kenya again, causing severe flooding. In our neighboring district, a landslide killed many people and covered property worth millions.

Pray that the Lord may provide funds for us to buy iron sheets, nails, doors, and windows to enable people to build new houses. Also, they are not going to have a harvest as all crops have been swept away with the floods.

In a district where some of our churches are located, 40 people have died in the floods. There is no transportation as roads are impassible. In many places, crops have been destroyed. Armyworms have contributed to this destruction, as they have invaded many farms and eaten almost every leaf on the plants. Families are starving. Pray that we may get food to help the hungry people.

Thank you so much for your loving concern and prayers. Your help has meant so much to us through the years.
