Gospel Campaign reaches 150,000 people

July 6, 2011

About 120 students of Bharat Bible College, as part of their practical outdoor ministry, along with the teachers, went into the streets to preach the gospel. They set up at several strategic centers in 11 towns and surrounding villages with the help of the public address system.

While the gospel is being preached, other members in the team distribute tracts, Gospels, and Bibles to pedestrians, shopkeepers and residents in the surrounding homes. Two women´s teams visited the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, along with the director, Dr. Samuel Buraga. They went into many schools and colleges singing, preaching, and handing out gospel tracts. Both the students and teachers were enthused by the receptivity of a majority of the people. Many men, women and children received the literature.

Some people receiving the gospel tracts tore them into pieces, some mocked at the singing and preaching, while others called the workers names with abusive language. The evening meetings were disturbed by non-Christian people which is common in outdoor evangelism.

Despite the opposition, approximately 250 people raised their hands during the altar calls, indicating their willingness to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Buraga wrote,

“We are sure many souls were added to the kingdom of God. How we praise God for the work of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for praying for and with us. The 11 teams went to 135 towns and villages, 150,000 people were reached, and 200,000 Gospels and tracts were distributed, with only ONE goal - WIN SOULS FOR CHRIST.”

“We request prayer for the new believers and for the hundreds and thousands of people who received the gospel through preaching, printed pages, and personal contact, so that they may come to the saving knowledge of Christ.”

Gifts to Christian Aid help ministries like Bharat Bible College, which perseveres through trials, and whose students are given the opportunity to reach the unreached thousands for Christ. BBC students have done what they could, but eventually it is God who gives the increase.
