Terrorists Attack Two Church Services in Northern Nigeria on Sunday

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria – Coordinated attacks attributed to Muslim terrorists left at least 19 dead on Sunday in areas here where Christian Aid Mission is assisting native evangelists. The Virginia-based non-profit ministry is collecting emergency relief for refugees and victims of such attacks, gift code 500-IUCN.

Both Sunday attacks were made upon Christians while they were attending worship services in Kano, and Maiduguri, the capital of Northeast Borno state. Police attributed the attacks to Boko Haram, an Islamic terrorist sect which is seeking to create a separate Muslim state in northern Nigeria.

Christian Aid Mission is assisting native missionaries here who are reaching out to the Fulanis and Hausa tribes, providing literacy programs, schools and veterinary services.
