While refugee needs far outweigh local missionaries’ resources, workers are putting in long hours to keep traumatized people from further suffering. Local missionaries at one ministry provided 700 Syrian refugee families with basic food, blankets and hygiene items, as well as Bibles. In this way about 4,200 people received critical aid over a six-month stretch. As workers listen to concerns and demonstrate that they will stand with them through their troubles, many refugees hear the gospel. Local missionaries seek donations of $35 or $70 in order to provide aid to refugees in various parts of the country. Pray that workers will be protected from the pandemic, and believing refugees protected from persecution.
“The LORD protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.” (Psalm 146:9)
