In a country where impoverished children are tempted to join criminal gangs to obtain security and financial reward, local missionaries providing hot lunches and grocery bags encourage kids to follow God’s ways. This leads to Bible studies with children and their parents. The mother of a 13-year-old girl was able to devote her scant resources to her daughter’s schooling because she received a local ministry’s help with food and clothing. They both accepted Christ, and the girl joined a church’s worship team. Workers need donations of $35 or $70 to provide such compassionate aid. Pray poor children will receive the material and spiritual resources they need to withstand gang pressure.
“Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.” (Psalm 34:14)
