Help Persecuted Christians in Africa

January 9

Extremist violence in one country drove out residents of eight villages, including local missionaries who lost their food, clothing, motorcycles and materials. “Right now, both the missionaries and their converts are under siege,” the ministry leader said. Government officials entered camps for the displaced and said no rice and other aid would be distributed to those who did not convert to Islam. Donations are sought to assist persecuted Christians, including workers doing everything possible to help them. “These are urgent needs, and we ask you to pray for them,” the leader said.

“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.” (1 Peter 1:6)
