Missionaries drilled boreholes in the communities where they serve to provide safe water and alleviate the burden on women and children who previously walked miles for it. “These boreholes now provide safe drinking water for thousands,” the ministry leader said. But more boreholes are needed, and each costs $5,555. The ministry requests donations of any amount for this project. Pray this community engagement will open the door for the gospel.

A young man with extremist Muslim views and hostility toward Christianity began to read a Bible gifted to him by a local missionary, and his life was transformed. Through regular prayer and discipleship, the young man eventually gave his life to Christ. “The church is now preparing to baptize him,” the ministry leader said. More than 70 people recently attended a local ministry’s seminar in which they participated in three workshops: grace in the church, grace in the home, and grace as a person. The workshops were led by three graduates of the ministry’s counseling program and resulted in several participants inquiring about how to join that same program. Your donations help support such discipleship opportunities. Pray for the kingdom to grow in Sri Lanka.

Local missionaries are overwhelmed by the needs of refugees they encounter and have traveled to meet with and encourage those desperate for help. Recently, they witnessed refugees walking one mile just to get clean water. The missionaries shared the gospel and prayed with them, helped with legal paperwork, and took phone numbers for follow-up. You can assist refugees with your donation. Pray for those displaced from home, that they might find rest.

A man who gave his life to Jesus during a local ministry’s outreach event was immediately expelled from his home once his family learned of his decision. He is but one example of the persecuted believers whom the ministry helps support when they lose everything to follow Jesus. You can assist the persecuted with a donation of $25 or $50. Widows and poor families from among a ministry’s church groups were provided with supplies to make carpets, prayer rugs, and embroidery to sell and support themselves. “This carpet-making from the home is really helping those families in many ways,” the ministry leader said. The ministry hopes to equip 40 families with rug-making supplies and requests donations of $233, the amount necessary to provide such supplies to just one family. Pray believers would be encouraged through this assistance.

A local ministry’s discipleship and church-planting program brings together believers three mornings each week to equip them for future missions work. In the afternoon, the students participate in practical workshops such as tailoring, weaving, and hair-plaiting, and people from neighboring communities who aren’t yet believers are invited to join. Donations support such training efforts. Pray that believers grow in their boldness to share the gospel.

After local missionaries became aware that the children in their community spent too much time playing games online, they began to conduct weekly Bible lessons and teach the children about God. Now, the children have noticeably changed. “Our children’s ministry is getting bigger and most of the kids also bring their siblings and friends to Sunday school,” the ministry leader said. A local ministry’s printed Christian resources have received an overwhelmingly positive response from those who receive it, with one reader saying, “I thought I was alone. But now I know God sees me.” The ministry hopes to continue printing and distributing gospel resources to those who might not otherwise learn of Jesus as well as focusing on more digital projects. Missionaries in South Asia often rely on motorbikes to travel to isolated, difficult-to-reach places to share the gospel, and local ministries request help to purchase these vehicles. “We need two motorbikes,” one ministry leader said. “These are for the missionaries who find it difficult to travel to remote villages.” These ministries seek donations of any amount for such purchases, which cost $1,000 each. A local ministry’s church is located in the city’s most dangerous slum, and recently, a team of missionaries evangelized door-to-door near the church. “Within one hour, they were able to reach 134 people with the gospel, and 31 people intelligently indicated a salvation decision in Christ,” the ministry leader said. A witch doctor’s nightmare led him to seek out a local missionary, and he gave his life to Jesus. Following his surrender to Christ, the man led his family—14 people in total—to the Lord as well, and the local missionary organized a special meal to welcome the man and his family into the community church. An opium addict sought prayer from local missionaries—not for himself, but for his daughter, who was possessed by a demon. Not only did the missionary pray over the girl, but he also shared the gospel with her father. “Now his daughter is more alert,” the missionary said. “And thank God, he believed in God and has changed his life.” Donations assist missionaries in their evangelism to the lost. Pray the gospel will transform those who hear it.

A local ministry has provided health care to a refugee for two years, raising support so that he could receive prosthetic legs and helping provide him with medicine to treat a serious autoimmune issue. Pray the Lord’s mercy on those struggling with illness.

A believer heard a Bible passage translated into his indigenous language by local missionaries and was amazed that the translation was completed by people from a neighboring town rather than by non-native speakers. “He thanked us for the translation work we’re doing,” the missionary said. “Now that he’s heard God’s Word in his language, he rejoices because he understands it even more.” Support in the amount of $11 will print one Bible portion in a native language, and $44 will print four Bible portions.
