Worldwide impact

of the world's unreached people groups

Indigenous (local) missionaries assisted by Christian Aid Mission are working among nearly 1/3 of the world’s unreached people groups (over 2,000 groups).

What’s an “unreached people group”? An unreached people group is a distinct ethnic group among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize the people group without outside assistance.

Approximately 17,000 people groups exist in our world today; around 7,000 of these groups are unreached. Most of the world’s unreached people groups live in areas like North India where Christians are a persecuted minority. Others live in hard-to-reach areas like the Amazon jungle.

One of the main reasons unreached people groups remain unreached is lack of funding. But a little support goes a long way. When Christian Aid Mission first started, there were no known Christians in the Hindu kingdom of Nepal. By supporting one of the country’s first indigenous missionaries, we helped him to plant churches among 31 people groups.
