China is going through a challenging season. Many young people are out of work and feel hopeless. Thousands of churches were closed during the pandemic, and most have not been permitted to reopen. In addition, new regulations targeting house churches have made it illegal for pastors to collect tithes. Christians are now meeting together in small groups, resulting in a huge need for trained leaders. Over the years, ministries assisted by Christian Aid Mission have been able to train thousands of pastors and Christian leaders in underground churches. They are heavily engaged in reaching minority ethnic groups unreached by the gospel and translating the Bible into their languages.

Ministry Highlight

Missionaries working among remote, ethnic minorities partnered with teachers at small, local schools to help raise awareness about the importance of education, as many children do not attend school, and provided school supplies to poor children. They also distributed food, blankets, and warm clothing to earthquake victims in the region. Their efforts yielded three small groups of believers who meet weekly.

How You Can Make a Difference

Indigenous missionaries in China courageously persevere despite the challenges of new laws that penalize their work and increased surveillance to enforce such laws. They must operate with much wisdom and faith in God’s protection and provision. Your prayers and financial support encourage them, remind them that they are not alone, and strengthen their work so they can reach even more souls for Christ.

From the Mission Field in China

Support Missionaries as They Love the Lost in China
A woman who was recently diagnosed with cancer and who struggles with depression met local missionaries who built a relationship with her over a six-month period. Gradually, the woman came out of her depression through the power of the gospel, gave her life to Christ, and was baptized. Now, she regularly attends a Bible study group. Your monthly gift of $60 supports missionaries in their gospel service. Pray the light of Christ will shine through all they do.
The “Super Squad” Transforms a Chinese Village
The village was neglected. Dirty. Desolate. Dried corn stalks and discarded farm tools littered the manure-covered ground. After school, children wandered the streets unsupervised, without rules or responsibility, while elderly men and women huddled together beneath the warm afternoon sun.
Give Hope to the Weary in China
When missionaries visited the home of a believer, they were shocked at the poverty in which he lived. His wife—an idol worshipper—cried when she met them, and the missionaries shared the gospel with her, leading her to salvation in Christ. They also gifted the family with a new MP3 player because the man’s had been stolen. Donations of $25 or $50 support missionaries with such daily gospel work. Pray the gospel will bring joy to those who hear it.
Support Missionaries as They Share Jesus in China
An alcoholic who was disliked by most in his community eventually sought help from a local missionary. Though the missionary said he would pray for the man, he also said, “Only Jesus can help you.” Soon after, the man began to attend church meetings, and he studied the Bible. “His life started to transform,” the ministry leader said. Your monthly gift of $60 helps support missionaries as they share Jesus with the lost. Pray that hardened hearts will be changed through the power of the gospel.
Urge the Lost Toward the Cross in China
After a young man almost lost his life in a car accident, his family encouraged him to enroll in a local ministry’s Bible school, where his faith began to grow. “My life was gradually transformed under my teachers’ guidance,” he said. “I was baptized into the name of Jesus on Christmas.” A donation of $25 or $50 supports such discipleship efforts. Pray the lost will find hope in the Lord.
Help Strengthen Believers’ Spiritual Foundation in China
Local missionaries shared the gospel with a devout Buddhist, and the man began to attend church services. During these times, he actively listened to the sermons and asked questions when he did not understand Bible passages. But he has yet to remove the icons and idols from his home. “When his faith has become more mature and stable, we pray he will be convicted that this is not God-pleasing and he will be willing to dismantle the idols and icons,” the ministry leader said. “This will take some time.”
