China is going through a challenging season. Many young people are out of work and feel hopeless. Thousands of churches were closed during the pandemic, and most have not been permitted to reopen. In addition, new regulations targeting house churches have made it illegal for pastors to collect tithes. Christians are now meeting together in small groups, resulting in a huge need for trained leaders. Over the years, ministries assisted by Christian Aid Mission have been able to train thousands of pastors and Christian leaders in underground churches. They are heavily engaged in reaching minority ethnic groups unreached by the gospel and translating the Bible into their languages.

Ministry Highlight

Missionaries working among remote, ethnic minorities partnered with teachers at small, local schools to help raise awareness about the importance of education, as many children do not attend school, and provided school supplies to poor children. They also distributed food, blankets, and warm clothing to earthquake victims in the region. Their efforts yielded three small groups of believers who meet weekly.

How You Can Make a Difference

Indigenous missionaries in China courageously persevere despite the challenges of new laws that penalize their work and increased surveillance to enforce such laws. They must operate with much wisdom and faith in God’s protection and provision. Your prayers and financial support encourage them, remind them that they are not alone, and strengthen their work so they can reach even more souls for Christ.

From the Mission Field in China

Bring the Light of Christ to the Lost in China
Together, several local missionaries opened a fast-food restaurant near a hospital so they could be near patients and their families and share the gospel with them when they came to eat. In a six-month period, the missionaries have told 20 adults about Jesus. Five of those expressed interest in learning more about Him, and three gave their lives to Him and were baptized. “Many elderly patients dine in the restaurant after they saw doctors from the hospital there,” the ministry leader said. “Our coworkers use any opportunity to share the gospel with the customers.” Donations of $25 or $50 support such outreach opportunities.
Assist Missionaries as They Serve Others in China
When a man who struggled with addiction began receiving help through a local ministry’s rehabilitation center, his sister also began to visit the center. She suffered from schizophrenia, however, and had difficulty connecting with others or finding the motivation to participate in any activities there. But after a while, a change began to occur. Missionaries noticed her engaging with the workers and even taking the initiative in doing devotions. “We are encouraged to witness this precious life being transformed through Jesus Christ,” the ministry leader said. Your donations of $60 or $120 support missionaries as they build relationships with others.
Tell of the Lord’s Mercy in China
A wealthy retired woman was unpopular in her village because she liked to argue with her neighbors and gamble. When missionaries visited her home, they not only shared the gospel with her, but they also prayed with her and explained the negative effects of gambling. The woman gave her life to Christ that day. Now, the missionaries regularly disciple her through the study of Scripture, and she has gradually stopped gambling. Your donations support missionaries with such evangelism and discipleship work.
Pierce Spiritual Darkness With Christ’s Light in China
An indigenous, idol-worshiping tribe believed in a curse that foretells of people’s deaths. When one elderly indigenous man stayed ill for much of the year, he believed his illness was confirmation of the validity of the curse and that he would soon die. But when missionaries learned of his beliefs, they prayed over him, breaking the bondage of the curse. Then, they encouraged him to focus his thoughts on the Lord. “He is still living peacefully now,” the ministry leader said. “The villagers realize God is more extraordinary than the gods they worship.” Donations of $50 or $100 help with such gospel work.
Support Missionaries Who Comfort the Downtrodden in China
When local missionaries met a woman in an abusive marriage, they prayed and shared the gospel with her. But at the time, she was too afraid of her husband to give her life to Christ. Later, when she became seriously ill, the missionaries again urged her to give her life to Jesus. This time, she chose to believe in Him. “Thank the Lord for his healing grace,” the ministry leader said. “She is completely healed now.” In addition, her husband’s behavior toward her has changed for the better. Your donations support missionaries in their evangelism work.
Prepare Missionaries for Kingdom Work in China
A student in a local ministry's Bible program will graduate soon after three years of study, and his time there has prepared him well for gospel service. "I am thankful for the mentorship from the principal and teachers," he said. "They helped us build a solid doctrinal foundation to discern false teaching from the truth, and I have learned to rely on the Lord for victory in future stormy weather." Students learn how to study the Bible, how to pray and lead worship, and also how to preach and conduct meetings. Your donations support training opportunities such as this.
