Pray the Lord breaks people free of spiritual bondage. An indigenous, idol-worshiping tribe believed in a curse that foretells of people’s deaths. When one elderly indigenous man stayed ill for much of the year, he believed his illness was confirmation of the validity of the curse and that he would soon die. But when missionaries learned of his beliefs, they prayed over him, breaking the bondage of the curse. Then, they encouraged him to focus his thoughts on the Lord. “He is still living peacefully now,” the ministry leader said. “The villagers realize God is more extraordinary than the gods they worship.” Donations of $50 or $100 help with such gospel work.
