China is going through a challenging season. Many young people are out of work and feel hopeless. Thousands of churches were closed during the pandemic, and most have not been permitted to reopen. In addition, new regulations targeting house churches have made it illegal for pastors to collect tithes. Christians are now meeting together in small groups, resulting in a huge need for trained leaders. Over the years, ministries assisted by Christian Aid Mission have been able to train thousands of pastors and Christian leaders in underground churches. They are heavily engaged in reaching minority ethnic groups unreached by the gospel and translating the Bible into their languages.

Ministry Highlight

Missionaries working among remote, ethnic minorities partnered with teachers at small, local schools to help raise awareness about the importance of education, as many children do not attend school, and provided school supplies to poor children. They also distributed food, blankets, and warm clothing to earthquake victims in the region. Their efforts yielded three small groups of believers who meet weekly.

How You Can Make a Difference

Indigenous missionaries in China courageously persevere despite the challenges of new laws that penalize their work and increased surveillance to enforce such laws. They must operate with much wisdom and faith in God’s protection and provision. Your prayers and financial support encourage them, remind them that they are not alone, and strengthen their work so they can reach even more souls for Christ.

From the Mission Field in China

Encourage Seekers to Follow Jesus in China
Approximately 50 college students attended a three-day event hosted by a local ministry in which Christian leaders presented on topics such as “The Real Meaning of Life” and “How Entrepreneurs Get to Know and Accept the Love of Christ.” Through these lectures, the students explored Christianity and the deeper meaning of life, and at the event's conclusion, 19 students gave their lives to Jesus and were baptized. “This was a milestone in their journey of faith and a landmark of their personal growth and transformation,” the ministry leader said. Your donations support such outreach opportunities.
Assist Christian Workers Who Share Jesus in China
Local missionaries regularly visit the elderly in different places because they live alone, some are old and sick and unable to care for themselves, and most have never heard the gospel. “If no one comes to preach the gospel to them, they will never have the opportunity to hear it,” the ministry leader said. “We have been very burdened with the lost souls of this needy group of people, and we need more brothers and sisters burdened by the harvest to participate in our ministry.” Your donations support missionaries as they bring the hope of Jesus to the lost.
Lift Up the Downtrodden in China
Women from a local church joined together to care for an elderly woman in the final stages of lung cancer and her daughter, who suffers from mental illness. Together, the church women prepare and bring meals to the mother and daughter, they do their laundry, and they help them clean. One woman even brings the adult daughter to spend the night in her home some nights so the mother can rest easier. "Because of God's love, these church sisters serve willingly and joyfully," the ministry leader said. "The elderly woman has deeply experienced God's love." Your donations are needed for such outreach.
Tell of the Lord’s Mighty Power in China
Even though a local ministry worker served as a camp counselor at the ministry's children's camp, he was skeptical about whether children could truly understand the meaning of salvation in such a short period of time. But when he saw the children admit their sins and give their lives to Jesus, he confessed that he was wrong and had incorrectly chosen to believe God had limited power. "Now, he visits children's homes regularly and has a strong sense of urgency for teens to know the Lord," the ministry leader said. Your donations assist with life-changing evangelism work.
Support Discipleship of New Believers in China
A young man who recently gave his life to Christ continued to struggle with self-reproach because he came from a family that worshipped idols. Ministry workers encouraged the other young people in the fellowship he attended to encourage him and try to be his friend. Because of their perseverance, the young man slowly began to grow in his faith and confidence and now actively participates in fellowship and ministry work. Donations of $60 or $120 support Christian workers in their discipleship of new believers.
Strengthen Underground Congregations in China
A man who spent his life in immoral and abusive activities was diagnosed with a tumor, and while he was in the hospital, members of a local church were his only visitors. Though he had been a nominal church attendee prior to his diagnosis, the compassion of these brothers and sisters led him fully to the Lord. Now, he is a ministry co-worker. The man is but one example of a life changed by Christ through small congregations that meet in secret to worship and encourage one another. Funds are needed to help evangelize the lost and train Christian leaders. Pray for the faithfulness of believers in places hostile to the gospel.
