China is going through a challenging season. Many young people are out of work and feel hopeless. Thousands of churches were closed during the pandemic, and most have not been permitted to reopen. In addition, new regulations targeting house churches have made it illegal for pastors to collect tithes. Christians are now meeting together in small groups, resulting in a huge need for trained leaders. Over the years, ministries assisted by Christian Aid Mission have been able to train thousands of pastors and Christian leaders in underground churches. They are heavily engaged in reaching minority ethnic groups unreached by the gospel and translating the Bible into their languages.

Ministry Highlight

Missionaries working among remote, ethnic minorities partnered with teachers at small, local schools to help raise awareness about the importance of education, as many children do not attend school, and provided school supplies to poor children. They also distributed food, blankets, and warm clothing to earthquake victims in the region. Their efforts yielded three small groups of believers who meet weekly.

How You Can Make a Difference

Indigenous missionaries in China courageously persevere despite the challenges of new laws that penalize their work and increased surveillance to enforce such laws. They must operate with much wisdom and faith in God’s protection and provision. Your prayers and financial support encourage them, remind them that they are not alone, and strengthen their work so they can reach even more souls for Christ.

From the Mission Field in China

Prepare Missionaries to Work Through Difficult Times in China
Pray for missionaries who share the gospel at great personal risk. A young man who attended a local ministry’s youth camps for many years now works in ministry and has brought more than 1,000 people to Jesus. He is currently undergoing training on how to send others out into the community to build relationships with and lead others to Christ, particularly those who work in government. “He is so teachable and humble,” the ministry leader said. “Only by the Spirit of God he and his team can follow the call into this new evangelism approach in the most challenging time in China.” Your donations help provide such training to Christian workers.
Bring the Salvation Message to New Places in China
Pray for missionaries to remain diligent in their Kingdom-building efforts. A local ministry has begun the process of adapting their Bible curriculum into a narrated cartoon video format to teach young people about the gospel. One added benefit of this adaptation will be the ability to translate the narration into different languages, which one missionary will use in his work with minority groups in several provinces. “This video series will help them understand and study the Bible and is a good tool for discipleship and equipping the saints,” the ministry leader said. Donations of $50 or $100 help missionaries with such outreach.
Lift From Despair Those Who Are Hurting in China
Pray the Lord will change the hearts of those who are hurting. A man from a broken family and who struggled with his mental health entered a local ministry’s rehabilitation center and began to learn about God. When he first arrived, he was cold-hearted and emotionally detached. “It was the way for him to protect himself,” the ministry leader said. But through the encouragement and discipleship of the workers there, he began to change. Now, even though he has completed the program, he chose to stay and will train to become part of the staff. Your donations support such life-changing evangelism and discipleship.
Encourage the Broken to Return to Jesus in China
Pray that those who stray from God will return to Him. A man who attended church with his family as a child drifted from the Lord as a teenager and became involved with drinking, smoking, and stealing. When local missionaries met him, they invited him to a guitar-learning program they'd organized, and he soon became skilled on the instrument. The missionaries invited him to play at church—the same church he'd attended as a child—and he agreed. “He realized from our group meetings that he needed God's help and decided to believe in the Lord,” the ministry leader said. Donations help missionaries lead outreach such as this.
Lift the Mournful Into Christ’s Arms in China
Pray the hopeless will be transformed by the message of the cross. Local missionaries visited an older gentleman who was cut off from his family because they'd grown weary of his bitterness and irritability. After the man was diagnosed with cancer, he grew hopeless about his life. The missionaries helped him process his diagnosis, and they also reached out to his family, guiding them through a reconciliation with the man. Several months later, the man, his wife, and his daughter gave their lives to Christ. “They found hope in despair,” the ministry leader said. Your donations support local missionaries as they evangelize and disciple others.
Share Jesus With the Lonely in China
Pray the lost will come to know the abundant joy found in Jesus. A woman with cancer heard the gospel several times from local missionaries, but she continued to close her heart to the love of Jesus, and her life remained full of sorrow. The missionaries remained persistent, however, and over time, the woman opened her heart and came to believe not only that she was worthy of love, but that Christ would love her unconditionally. The missionaries then visited her family who, after seeing her transformation, also gave their lives to Jesus. Help missionaries in their outreach to the lost with a donation of $60 or $120.
