China is going through a challenging season. Many young people are out of work and feel hopeless. Thousands of churches were closed during the pandemic, and most have not been permitted to reopen. In addition, new regulations targeting house churches have made it illegal for pastors to collect tithes. Christians are now meeting together in small groups, resulting in a huge need for trained leaders. Over the years, ministries assisted by Christian Aid Mission have been able to train thousands of pastors and Christian leaders in underground churches. They are heavily engaged in reaching minority ethnic groups unreached by the gospel and translating the Bible into their languages.

Ministry Highlight

Missionaries working among remote, ethnic minorities partnered with teachers at small, local schools to help raise awareness about the importance of education, as many children do not attend school, and provided school supplies to poor children. They also distributed food, blankets, and warm clothing to earthquake victims in the region. Their efforts yielded three small groups of believers who meet weekly.

How You Can Make a Difference

Indigenous missionaries in China courageously persevere despite the challenges of new laws that penalize their work and increased surveillance to enforce such laws. They must operate with much wisdom and faith in God’s protection and provision. Your prayers and financial support encourage them, remind them that they are not alone, and strengthen their work so they can reach even more souls for Christ.

From the Mission Field in China

Assist Those Whose Worship Is Monitored in China
A native ministry organized a four-day convention and spent many days training ushers, counselors, prayer warriors, and other committees to ensure the event ran smoothly. “Praise the Lord!” the ministry leader said following its conclusion. “The Lord ministered and won many souls to the glory of God.” Among the 45 people who decided to give their lives to Christ was a prominent and respected man from a nearby town. “He is now a new being in Christ,” the ministry leader said. Your donations support evangelism and discipleship such as this. Pray the lost will be transformed by the power of the cross.
Share the Hope of the Gospel in China
Pray that a new generation of believers will rise up for the Lord. A group of young leaders from a local ministry established a music company in which they record gospel music and gift the music to others. After people download the songs, they can search for others who are listening to the same music and join online group discussions as well as in-person gatherings. “It will become a new tool and way to reach out to the younger generations,” the ministry leader said. Your donations are needed for such evangelism and outreach.
Encourage Indigenous Missionaries and Their Families in China
A native ministry turned its traditional staff retreat into a family camp this year to show its appreciation to the families of the Christian workers who endlessly make sacrifices for gospel work. Many missionaries admitted they had neglected their families, and their wives confessed they were overwhelmed with anxiety as they carried extra responsibilities and burdens. But the camp restored relationships as participants were renewed in their faith and commitment to one another. “All the participants of this family camp were fed physically, emotionally, and spiritually,” the ministry leader said. Your donations enable invaluable opportunities such as this to refresh Christian workers. Pray for native missionaries and their families.
Turn Hearts and Minds Toward the Cross in China
Pray that believers will be a living testament to Christ’s transformative power. After several years of dedicated attendance at an indigenous ministry’s Bible study, a woman began to understand the Scriptures and came to know God. One of the first lessons she learned was the importance of marital submission, and over the course of several years, her obedience in this regard soon led to many blessings on her family. “Her children and husband have come to know God and have accepted Jesus as their Savior,” the ministry leader said. Your donations of $25 or $50 enable local ministries to share the gospel and bring the lost to Jesus.
Build Relationships With New Communities in China
Pray that those who hear the gospel message will entrust their lives to Christ. As part of their outreach, local missionaries have built relationships with several individuals with mental illnesses. Due to side effects of their medications, however, these individuals often forget previous conversations. The missionaries discovered that the repetitive nature of hymns and other worship songs is easier to remember, and they now use those songs to share the gospel. “We plan to recruit Christians to form a caring group to sing hymns with them, chat with them, and share God’s love with them,” the ministry leader said. Your donations support this evangelism.
Prepare Missionaries to Serve the Lord in China
Pray that those who hear the gospel will commit their lives to Christ. A woman who attended a Christian camp for recent high school graduates felt the Holy Spirit stirring in her heart. During college, she participated in a local ministry’s Christian fellowship and, eventually, their three-month intensive discipleship training. Soon after, she gave her life to Christ and responded to the call of full-time ministry. “There are many sad and lonely people,” she said. “I want to go to them, comfort them, and bring God into their lives.” Your donations of $60 or $120 support the discipleship and training of believers.
