In most countries in the difficult mission field of Eurasia, evangelical believers comprise less than 1 percent of the population. Indigenous missionaries travel far distances in these countries to bring the message of Christ to isolated, unreached people groups. They face political, cultural, and religious ideologies that are closed and hostile to the gospel message. Through compassionate outreach to children and poor, marginalized people, missionaries are making inroads for the gospel.

Ministry Highlight

A ministry in Uzbekistan shared the gospel with over 2,600 people and started 18 new churches last year. They are reaching the Turkmen people, who are one of the world’s least-reached people groups, in an area near the border of Turkmenistan. “This area is one of the most remote corners of the country,” the leader said. “A desert, both naturally and spiritually.” There are now about 30 new believers in this area and even more seekers.

How You Can Make a Difference

Thanks to dedicated indigenous missionaries, the gospel is taking root among the ethnic minorities in Eurasia, but they need help to reach the remote communities where these minorities live to disciple and train them in God’s Word. You can supply them with vital resources for transportation and living expenses, along with Bibles and training materials.

From the Mission Field in Eurasia

Tell of the Power of Jesus’ Love in Kazakhstan
Pray the Lord will open the hearts of the lost to hear the gospel message. During a six-month period, local missionaries personally witnessed to people through gatherings at coffee shops, visits to new friends’ homes, or during outings in town. “If we see an open heart, we tell our testimony and we invite you to personal meetings where we conduct discipleship,” the ministry leader said. “We give the Bible and teach how to study it, and we read it together and discuss questions.” Your donations support missionaries in their evangelism efforts.
Build Relationships in Christ’s Name in Kazakhstan
Pray the Lord will bless new friendships among missionaries and their neighbors. Workers from a local ministry organized an informal get-together to build new friendships with their neighbors. The men prepared dinner together over the fire while the women congregated inside to make salads and get to know one another. During dinner, the ministry leader’s wife shared her testimony. “Thank God for these new friends with whom we can build relationships and shine and evangelize,” the ministry leader said. Your donations support local missionaries as they evangelize in their communities.
Strengthen Those Struggling to Survive in Eurasia
Pray the sick will find comfort in Jesus. Local missionaries visited a family struggling to provide for themselves because the husband suffered from severe asthma, which made it difficult for him to find work. During the visit, the missionaries told the family of Jesus, the great Healer, and prayed for the man. When they revisited the family several months later, they learned the husband no longer suffered as badly and had returned to work. “Currently, this family started to follow God and study the Word in a group,” the ministry leader said. Your donations support missionaries in their evangelism to the lost.
Help Missionaries Serve the Lord With Gladness in Kyrgyzstan
Pray that Muslims will be transformed by the gospel. Several Muslim parents permitted their children to attend a local ministry's youth camp despite knowing it was a Christian camp. The parents believed their children would learn important life principles as well as gain an understanding about another religion, and missionaries were excited for the opportunity to present the gospel to children who might not otherwise hear it. “These are good opportunities for awakening among Muslim nations,” the ministry leader said. “As they grow up and become more independent of family influence, they will be able to accept Christ.” Donations support outreach such as this.
Transforming Uzbekistan One Believer at a Time
With her baby in her arms, Samiya (all names have been changed for security) welcomed people into her home for that day’s Bible study. Finally, when the last arrived, they sat together to study the Word of God. “These new believers are very happy to learn and understand the depth and richness of the Bible,” a local ministry leader said. “God continues to make Himself visible and move around this nation in this area.” Just one year prior, this village, located in one of the most remote, unreached parts of Uzbekistan, was as spiritually dry as its desert landscape. It wasn’t until a group of local missionaries began to pray for the people there that things started to change.
