Continued unrest in the world has created so many refugees who are fleeing to Europe to find safe haven. What they typically find instead is resentment and prejudice from locals, homelessness, and hunger. The indigenous ministries in this region are like an oasis in the desert for weary souls, offering refugees food, clothing, and other basic necessities, along with counseling, shelter, and help to obtain asylum, medical treatment, and other services. Most importantly, ministry workers share the gospel with them and are leading many to Christ.

Ministry Highlight

In Serbia, a ministry is supporting two church plants among the Romani people. Within the span of a few months, one of the churches baptized over 100 people. “The impact of this Romani church is huge,” the ministry leader said, “because many Romani people are coming from outside the city, region, or country to get baptized.”

How You Can Make a Difference

Indigenous ministries in Europe are taking the opportunity to share the love of Christ with the multitude of refugees who have fled their countries from war and terrorism. The practical aid that these ministries offer has opened the hearts of many refugees to the gospel message. Practical aid, however, is a constant need as indigenous ministries are inundated with requests for help. Your support will enable these ministries to provide vital food, medicine, and shelter in Jesus’ name to refugees in physical and spiritual need.

From the Mission Field in Europe

Help Refugees Find Joy in Spain
An 8-year-old refugee girl who suffered severe trauma, including sexual abuse, was permitted by her Muslim family to attend a native ministry’s children’s program and Sunday school. After several months, her father commented that she was noticeably changed and full of joy that he couldn’t explain. Her mother, too, was in awe, asking what had happened to her daughter. “The Spirit of God is working in her and at eight years old she is a testimony to her parents,” the ministry leader said. Donations of $35 or $70 are needed to support Christian workers in their work with refugees. Pray that families will be united in Christ through the gospel message.
Share Jesus’s Mercy With Refugees in Greece
A refugee sought help from a native ministry because she needed a place to stay and because she had psychiatric issues and needed medical help. Ministry workers placed her in short-term accommodations and eventually into a refugee camp. Their service to refugees also includes the distribution of food, diapers, clothes, and shoes, and they help people go through the proper immigration process. “Through humanitarian aid the Lord opens up ways for us to minister to these people and many have come to know the Lord as their personal Savior,” the ministry leader said. Donations of $35 or $70 are needed to care for refugees. Pray that the gospel message will bring them joy.
Bring Much-Needed Aid To Refugees in Europe
A refugee fleeing war learned of a native ministry’s refugee center, and when she visited, she received groceries and dental treatment, a medical service provided for free. She also decided to attend worship services at the church, and six months later, she was baptized. “I’m very thankful to God who led me to this church,” she said. “This church gave me help and supported me in a difficult time.” The ministry also distributes hygiene products, diapers, and medicine, and workers give haircuts and teach English lessons. Your donations of $35 or $70 help provide basic necessities to refugees. Pray ministries like this one continue to bring the peace of Christ to those they serve.
Transform Young Lives With the Good News in Europe
The life of a young girl from an impoverished community was transformed through the intervention of Christian workers from one native ministry who not only provided her access to a quality education but also mentored her and gave her spiritual guidance. “Her testimony is a powerful reminder of the transformative impact of investing in the lives of children and youth, empowering them to overcome adversity and fulfill their God-given potential,” said the leader of the ministry. Donations of $30 or $60 assist missionaries with outreach such as this. Pray that the Lord will bless these young lives and they will give all praise to Him.
Help Missionaries Teach God’s Forgiveness in Spain
A young man imprisoned for drug trafficking met a native missionary who befriended him and slowly built a relationship. One day, the young man told the missionary his parents hoped he would die so their shame would end. This presented an opportunity to share the gospel, and the missionary explained he must die to self so he could be reborn in Christ. The young man gave his life to Jesus and, after he was released from prison, told the missionary he could not stop reading the Bible or praying. “My thoughts are only for God,” he said. Funds of $25 or $50 support evangelism and discipleship throughout the country. Pray for native missionaries as they present the gospel to the lost.
Assist Those In Search Of Peace in Slovakia
A Ukrainian refugee nearly lost his life when his home flooded due to the purposeful destruction of a dam. He survived by climbing with his neighbor onto the roof of the neighbor’s three-story home, where they were eventually rescued by boats. But when the boats tried to pull onto the riverbanks, soldiers shot at them, and their boats were destroyed. After the man escaped to Slovakia, he received help from a native ministry. “By the mercy of God they survived,” the ministry leader said. Your donations provide compassionate aid to refugees. “Pray for the end of war, protection, and the coming of peace and revival,” the ministry leader said.
