Continued unrest in the world has created so many refugees who are fleeing to Europe to find safe haven. What they typically find instead is resentment and prejudice from locals, homelessness, and hunger. The indigenous ministries in this region are like an oasis in the desert for weary souls, offering refugees food, clothing, and other basic necessities, along with counseling, shelter, and help to obtain asylum, medical treatment, and other services. Most importantly, ministry workers share the gospel with them and are leading many to Christ.

Ministry Highlight

In Serbia, a ministry is supporting two church plants among the Romani people. Within the span of a few months, one of the churches baptized over 100 people. “The impact of this Romani church is huge,” the ministry leader said, “because many Romani people are coming from outside the city, region, or country to get baptized.”

How You Can Make a Difference

Indigenous ministries in Europe are taking the opportunity to share the love of Christ with the multitude of refugees who have fled their countries from war and terrorism. The practical aid that these ministries offer has opened the hearts of many refugees to the gospel message. Practical aid, however, is a constant need as indigenous ministries are inundated with requests for help. Your support will enable these ministries to provide vital food, medicine, and shelter in Jesus’ name to refugees in physical and spiritual need.

From the Mission Field in Europe

Share Jesus With The Lost And Lonely in Italy
When two native Christian workers began teaching Italian language classes to refugees at a local facility, they had no idea how many people would attend. And as refugees trickled in, they initially greeted the missionaries with uncertainty. But when their greeting was returned in their own language, their entire demeanors changed. “Speaking the same language makes one feel at home,” one missionary said. “The Lord has a heart for those who are far away from home. Creating the ideal conditions for anyone to know their worth is therefore my responsibility.” Your donations support outreach to refugees. Pray for those forced to face the challenges of being in an unfamiliar place.
Celebrate the Birth of Christ in Albania
Pray for Christians around the world as they celebrate the birth of Christ. As part of their outreach in the community, a local ministry organized several Christmas events to engage with their neighbors and share the gospel. Missionaries distributed sacks of flour to the most vulnerable, they gifted disabled children and orphans with Christmas gifts, and they hosted local officials during an annual, traditional event. “It was a blessing for them during Christmas because they can understand that God provides for any basic needs for us and He is the bread of life,” the ministry leader said. Your donations support this important gospel outreach.
Bring the Lost to Jesus in Spain
Pray for the body of believers as they fellowship with one another. Through one local ministry’s unwavering commitment to bring the lost to Jesus and disciple those who choose to follow Him, new believers are eager and prepared to start home churches among their friends and families. Christian workers have also planted churches in prisons, hospitals, and the military, and with refugees. “Our vision is to teach and work the process of making disciples who then make disciples, and we encourage them to open their homes as house churches where they can invite others to do the same.” Donations of $50 or $100 support such vital kingdom work.
Share Christ With Refugees Hungry for Truth in Greece
A native ministry that assists refugees has seen a huge influx of people seeking help, including one refugee who traveled four hours by bus. As they wait in line for aid, the refugees are able to read various gospel resources set out across the center, and this has presented opportunities for workers to later share the message of salvation. “I have always wanted to learn about Christianity and now I can,” one refugee said. Donations of $35 or $70 enable ministries such as this to assist refugees. Pray for doors to be opened to share the good news of Jesus.
Transform Communities in Jesus’ Name in Spain
Pray for indigenous ministries as they evangelize in unreached places. A former prisoner who became a believer in prison thanks to an indigenous ministry’s outreach became a founding member of a church plant in a town notorious for drug trafficking. “A church of ex-drug traffickers in a well-known drug trafficking area for the glory of God!” the ministry leader said. With the help of the newly established church, the ministry will also open a refugee center in the same town in which they will be able to receive 80 to 100 refugees each year. Your donations of $35 or $70 are needed to support such ministry.
Provide Basic Necessities to Those in Need in Slovakia
Pray for refugees to accept the gift of salvation. A Ukrainian refugee sought help at a local ministry that she learned about on the internet. When she arrived at the church, she received groceries as well as hygiene products, and she was able to see a dentist and participate in English lessons. She also decided to attend a worship service organized by the ministry and came to know Christ as Savior. Six months later, she was baptized. “I’m very thankful to God who led me to this church,” she said. “This church gave me help and supported me in a difficult time.” Your donations support refugee ministries such as this.
