The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is almost entirely Islamic, making it one of the world’s most restricted mission fields. Conflict and terrorism in the region have left millions of people displaced, many of whom are traumatized after losing family members. Over a decade after the Arab Spring, millions of Syrians are still displaced or living in destitution as refugees in countries like Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon. Indigenous missionaries assisted by Christian Aid Mission are ministering to displaced people and refugees, providing emergency food aid, medical relief, and trauma counseling in Jesus’ name.

Ministry Highlight

In Iran, a ministry sent 45,000 Bibles across five states. “Five of the smugglers gave their lives to Jesus and have been trained in the gospel,” the ministry leader said. “Every one of them had family members or friends killed in their line of work.” Since the ministry began, they planted over 2,100 churches with believers in all 31 states.

How You Can Make a Difference

Indigenous ministries that Christian Aid Mission assists are reporting unprecedented openness among Muslims, who are questioning Islam in the face of Islamic terrorism and brutality. God is providing opportunities for His people to share the gospel in MENA, but they need your help to provide them with critical tools such as Bibles and aid to help the needy.

Help Train New Christian Leaders in Türkiye
Hundreds of people have been baptized or are awaiting baptism in churches that have been planted across the country. One new church only has two to three attendees, but they are new believers with a “fresh joy in the Lord.” Other locations have seen so much growth that their spaces are filled to capacity. Ministry workers have realized that significant growth occurs when a local pastor can minister to the people, and they hope to train at least three new ministers. Donations of $60 or $120 are needed to help train new leaders and provide for the increasing body of believers. Pray that workers will trust God to provide for their needs.
Give Hope To Struggling Families in Lebanon
Farmers in one ministry’s sustainable agricultural project reaped 35 tons of potatoes this season. The harvest, alongside a variety of green vegetables, was delivered to local families who also received donated winter clothes in preparation for colder weather. The ministry’s medical outreach has provided healthcare to more than 6,000 patients and has distributed more than 5,000 packs of medicine over a six-month period. But the economic and political situation has forced many more people into dire situations. Donations are needed to provide for the increasing number of vulnerable and displaced families. Pray for long-term sustainability projects to help families who have lost their livelihood.
Lift Up The Persecuted Church in Iraq
A widow and her two daughters became believers after they received a Bible, but they could not publicly express their faith because they lived in a camp alongside extremists. Ministry workers were able to move them to a different location where they can now freely live as Christians, and the children attend Bible study. Many other new believers have fled their homes because of severe persecution and death threats. Donations of $35 or $70 help provide such compassionate aid to displaced persecuted families. Pray for the Lord’s protection over workers and new believers who are persecuted for their faith.
Help Christian Leaders Befriend The Lost in the Middle East
The leader of a local prison admitted to a pastor that he had secretly taken one of the New Testaments the pastor and his co-workers delivered to the prison for the inmates. The man hoped that the pastor would discuss the Scriptures with him because when he read on his own, the words “brought him such comfort.” The two discussed the gospel at length, and a meeting that had initially made the pastor afraid concluded in joyful anticipation, with the man committing to attend the ministry’s next meeting. Donations of $25 or $50 help provide native ministries with evangelism resources. Pray that doors continue to open to share the good news of Christ.
Disciple New Believers in Türkiye
When a teenage girl told her family she’d become a Christian, they destroyed her Turkish Bible and forbade her from attending any church services. Refusing to renounce her beliefs, the girl marked a tree near her home with the sign of the cross and sits beneath it to read an English Bible, which her family cannot understand and therefore does not realize its value. From this tree, the girl can also hear hymns being sung from nearby, and ministry workers meet with her once a month in secret to encourage her in her faith. Donations support native ministries in such discipleship efforts. Pray for protection over new believers.
Share God’s Word With Seekers Of Truth in Syria
A devout Muslim woman was tasked by her family to intervene with a relative who became a believer after she delivered a healthy baby. Prior to the planned intervention, the Muslim woman attended several Christian meetings to gain a better understanding of her relative’s new beliefs and therefore be better equipped to bring her back to Islam. But the woman’s curiosity about Christ grew with each meeting and, finally, she became so overcome by the truth of the gospel, that she, too, chose to put her faith in Jesus. Donations help ministry workers evangelize and encourage new believers. Pray for their perseverance as they minister to people seeking truth.
