The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is almost entirely Islamic, making it one of the world’s most restricted mission fields. Conflict and terrorism in the region have left millions of people displaced, many of whom are traumatized after losing family members. Over a decade after the Arab Spring, millions of Syrians are still displaced or living in destitution as refugees in countries like Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon. Indigenous missionaries assisted by Christian Aid Mission are ministering to displaced people and refugees, providing emergency food aid, medical relief, and trauma counseling in Jesus’ name.

Ministry Highlight

In Iran, a ministry sent 45,000 Bibles across five states. “Five of the smugglers gave their lives to Jesus and have been trained in the gospel,” the ministry leader said. “Every one of them had family members or friends killed in their line of work.” Since the ministry began, they planted over 2,100 churches with believers in all 31 states.

How You Can Make a Difference

Indigenous ministries that Christian Aid Mission assists are reporting unprecedented openness among Muslims, who are questioning Islam in the face of Islamic terrorism and brutality. God is providing opportunities for His people to share the gospel in MENA, but they need your help to provide them with critical tools such as Bibles and aid to help the needy.

From the Mission Field in MENA

Stand Beside Persecuted Believers in Iraq
When a Muslim man from a deeply religious family became a Christian, several family members beat him so badly that he lost sight in one eye. They took all of his belongings as well as his wife and children and refused to let him see them again until he returned to Islam. Despite his misery, the man did not abandon the faith and even led two of his cousins to Christ. “He suffers a lot, but he is happy in the Lord and lives his days by faith, preaching Jesus Christ,” a ministry leader said. Donations assist those suffering in Jesus’ name. Pray they will persevere no matter the circumstances.
Provide Christian Workers With Evangelism Support in Lebanon
A student enrolled in a native ministry’s theology program recently participated in a class entitled “Preparing for Persecution,” a course that aims to prepare students how to respond when they are persecuted for their faith, particularly within the Middle Eastern context. “The course helped me see that persecution and difficulty are parts of a believer’s life that the Lord uses to help us grow and change into His image,” a student said. “We should expect difficulty and be ready for it.” Donations of $25 or $50 help such evangelism and discipleship needs. Pray these students faithfully follow Jesus even when they walk through fiery trials.
Help Missionaries Disciple Believers in the Middle East/North Africa
Though a woman and her family were followers of a native religion, they attended a local church, learning about God’s love and receiving care when they requested it. When the woman’s husband became ill and they were unable to pay their electric bill, she cried out to God for help. Shortly thereafter, two church members came to their home, prayed with them, and gave them the needed funds. Because of this, the woman and her family knew God was real. They accepted Christ as Savior and were baptized. Donations of $60 or $120 support missionaries in their discipleship efforts. Pray the Lord will continue to open hearts to accept His message of salvation.
Share The Richness Of Christ’s Love in Palestine
A young man with special needs lives in a home run by a native ministry, and one of his favorite pastimes is to sing for others, especially the song “Majesty.” Each time guests visit the home, he is always eager to sing for them as well as pray. “When you hear him pray, it is a wonderful confirmation that he knows the Lord as his Savior,” the ministry leader said. Your gifts are needed to support such ministry work. Pray for Christian workers who serve the most vulnerable in their communities.
Reach Out To Refugees in Türkiye
Christian workers from a native ministry visit a refugee camp once every two weeks and not only distribute supplies for their basic needs such as medicine, heaters, food, water, and clothing, but also build relationships with the families who have lived there for many years, gifting them with New Testaments and answering their questions about Christ. “We’re thankful to God for those who have received our help due to your contributions to us and who have come to faith,” the ministry leader said. Donations of $35 or $70 support refugee aid such as this. Pray that curiosity about Christianity will lead refugees to give their lives to Jesus.
Support Microenterprise Projects in Iran
An illiterate widow with no way to support her family was presented with an opportunity to make rugs through a microenterprise project developed through a native ministry. The woman is a believer, and when church members told her about the project, she cried with joy because she had been a professional rug maker in the past. “Jesus saved this family and brought hope and happiness to a widow with loads of problems trying to support and provide for her family,” the ministry leader said. “She is a stronger believer than ever before.” Your donations are needed for microenterprise projects such as this. Pray for the Lord’s continued provision for those in need.
