The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is almost entirely Islamic, making it one of the world’s most restricted mission fields. Conflict and terrorism in the region have left millions of people displaced, many of whom are traumatized after losing family members. Over a decade after the Arab Spring, millions of Syrians are still displaced or living in destitution as refugees in countries like Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon. Indigenous missionaries assisted by Christian Aid Mission are ministering to displaced people and refugees, providing emergency food aid, medical relief, and trauma counseling in Jesus’ name.

Ministry Highlight

In Iran, a ministry sent 45,000 Bibles across five states. “Five of the smugglers gave their lives to Jesus and have been trained in the gospel,” the ministry leader said. “Every one of them had family members or friends killed in their line of work.” Since the ministry began, they planted over 2,100 churches with believers in all 31 states.

How You Can Make a Difference

Indigenous ministries that Christian Aid Mission assists are reporting unprecedented openness among Muslims, who are questioning Islam in the face of Islamic terrorism and brutality. God is providing opportunities for His people to share the gospel in MENA, but they need your help to provide them with critical tools such as Bibles and aid to help the needy.

From the Mission Field in MENA

Restore Hope Through Community Outreach in Lebanon
A mother of four children, several with serious medical needs, became increasingly anxious and prone to anger due to the constant struggle to cover the family’s basic needs as well as medical costs. When the children received food boxes through the outreach of a native ministry, the family was overjoyed. The boxes included milk, cereals, dried fruits and jams, biscuits, and juices. “It had been a long time since they had enjoyed such a treat,” the ministry leader said. Your donations support community outreach. Pray the Lord will comfort those in need.
Serve the Sick and Ailing in Lebanon
Pray the Lord will comfort the sick and suffering. As part of its medical outreach, a local ministry supports a man and his wife who deal with chronic health conditions. Because of the man’s physical ailments, he is unable to work, which leaves the burden of financial support on his wife, who suffers from epilepsy and hypertension. With the ministry’s help, they receive their necessary medications. “This support has proven invaluable in easing both the medical and financial burden on her family,” the ministry leader said. “Our commitment to delivering health care to the vulnerable populations is uncompromised in these difficult conditions.” Your donations help support medical aid such as this.
Help Train Christian Workers in the Middle East
Current students and graduates of a native ministry’s seminary lead small church groups across one Middle Eastern country, and they credit their theological education as the reason they are able to do so in places hostile to the gospel. “Because the church there faces a lot of scrutiny, the church is very mission oriented,” the ministry leader said. “This is why they place a large emphasis on theological education: they want to equip leaders and send them out to start ministries and home groups in different parts of the country.” Your donations support the training of native Christian workers. Pray for missionaries who disciple believers in challenging places.
Encourage Christian Workers in Their Gospel Work in Jordan
A native missionary began leading a group of believers in a small house, and, for some time, only a few people attended, which frustrated the missionary. Then, one day, more people began to attend. “God’s response to my state of frustration was amazing,” the missionary said. The group outgrew the home where they met and now rents a space for regular meetings. “This is a step of faith,” the missionary said. “I laid it on the Lord who put on my heart this work, and He who started is able to complete.” Donations of $25 or $50 support evangelism and discipleship such as this. Pray believers will daily be encouraged in their fellowship together.
Support Those in Difficult Circumstances in Jordan
Pray Christ will be revealed through the provision of critical necessities to vulnerable families. The mother of a baby girl sought help from a local ministry because her baby was in the zero percentile for weight, height, and head circumference; her husband could not work because of health problems; they were evicted; and they often went without food or baby formula. The ministry, which also serves as a pre/post-natal ministry, provided medical care to the baby and her father, including specialist doctors for the baby; they provided them with food; and they regularly pray with the entire family. Your donations of $25 or $50 support ministries that supply critical aid such as this.
Provide Gospel Answers to Truth Seekers in Turkey
Pray that new believers will have the courage to share their faith. After a young man from a devout Islamic family moved away from home, he encountered a group of Christians who shared the gospel with him. At first, he was resistant to their words, but their sincerity eventually made him curious about their faith. This curiosity led him to a magazine published by a local ministry, and it changed his life. “The articles challenged my preconceived notions and offered a perspective on Christianity that I had never considered before,” he said. “I have decided to embrace Christianity.” Your donations support outreach such as this ministry’s faith-based magazine.
