The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is almost entirely Islamic, making it one of the world’s most restricted mission fields. Conflict and terrorism in the region have left millions of people displaced, many of whom are traumatized after losing family members. Over a decade after the Arab Spring, millions of Syrians are still displaced or living in destitution as refugees in countries like Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon. Indigenous missionaries assisted by Christian Aid Mission are ministering to displaced people and refugees, providing emergency food aid, medical relief, and trauma counseling in Jesus’ name.

Ministry Highlight

In Iran, a ministry sent 45,000 Bibles across five states. “Five of the smugglers gave their lives to Jesus and have been trained in the gospel,” the ministry leader said. “Every one of them had family members or friends killed in their line of work.” Since the ministry began, they planted over 2,100 churches with believers in all 31 states.

How You Can Make a Difference

Indigenous ministries that Christian Aid Mission assists are reporting unprecedented openness among Muslims, who are questioning Islam in the face of Islamic terrorism and brutality. God is providing opportunities for His people to share the gospel in MENA, but they need your help to provide them with critical tools such as Bibles and aid to help the needy.

From the Mission Field in MENA

Spread the Peace of Christ in Jordan
Pray that those who hear the gospel will put their faith in Jesus. An African refugee fled to Jordan with his three sons, his mother, and his nephew following a prison sentence for allegedly making comments against his country’s government. Upon entering Jordan, he learned he would not be allowed to work. A local ministry stepped in to assist him and, as part of their aid, they shared their testimonies and Bible stories with him. Though he was initially afraid to follow Christ, he recently chose to put his faith in Him and will be baptized. Donations of $25 or $50 support evangelism and discipleship.
Change Lives Through the Salvation Story in Turkey
Pray the lost will be transformed through God’s word. A Muslim college student read the New Testament to prove to her classmate—who recently became a believer—that his decision was wrong. But one night, she dreamed that she was falling and a man with pierced hands saved her. The dream was so powerful that she reported it to a local ministry leader, who encouraged her to give her life to Jesus. She was baptized soon after. “She picked up a New Testament to argue her case, but God used it to change her life,” the ministry leader said. Help get more Bibles into the hands of the lost through donations of $16 or $32.
Bring the Lost to Jesus in Iraq
Pray for missionaries as they seek new ways to evangelize the lost. A 24-year-old Muslim man disheartened by the violence in Islamic countries happened upon an indigenous ministry’s social media platform and became intrigued by their discussion on the differences between God and Allah. After a while, he began to participate in the discussion and came to believe that the true God was the Christian God. “He decided to follow Christ and prayed the prayer of repentance,” the ministry leader said. “This social media platform is a very popular program in the Middle East and is a very powerful means of direct evangelism.” Your donations support such evangelism.
Encourage Those Living Through Difficult Days in Israel
Pray that ministries will be fruitful despite challenging times. Though life remains difficult and uncertain, a local ministry continues to persevere with its program for the deaf. The ministry operates a YouTube channel that broadcasts sermons alongside sign language, and recently, several people who participate in the program came to church, a result of a personal invitation from missionaries they met. Also, one year ago, two listeners gave their lives to Jesus and were baptized in the Jordan River. Your donations help ministries continue with evangelism such as this during challenging times.
Be the Hope of Christ in the Middle East
Pray the Lord will provide for His people through uncertain days. Though times have grown increasingly dire in the region, one local ministry perseveres in its service to its community, particularly in its assistance to vulnerable families. Missionaries recently distributed food baskets to 90 families, they delivered medicine and medical aid to 12 families, and they gifted 55 children with school supplies. “We are focusing on the Lord and the ministry that He called us to do,” the ministry leader said. “We are so thankful to be able to help and show the love of the Lord.” Your donations of $35 or $70 assist with work such as this.
Celebrate With Those Who Receive Salvation in Jordan
Pray for revival among the lost who hear the gospel. A local ministry recently sent a team into a nearby refugee camp to conduct a one-day medical clinic for the people who live there. During the clinic, they provided medical care and medication to approximately 120 individuals, and the doctors prayed over each person as they administered to their needs. “Many gospel seeds were planted,” the ministry leader said. “Praise God with us for this practical way to minister to people and demonstrate Christ’s love.” Donations help missionaries serve vulnerable people through medical outreach.
