Indigenous missionaries in Africa face many challenges in their quest to share Jesus. Islam is rapidly spreading throughout the continent, and radical groups persecute Christians. Many communities are also in bondage to the occult. Poor governance has kept people in deep poverty. Many communities lack basic infrastructure, which has also created opportunities for missionaries to share Christ’s love by drilling wells and opening schools and clinics. They provide food and clothing to the poor and meet many other needs while sharing the hope of the gospel.

Ministry Highlight

In Liberia, an indigenous ministry transformed one of the country’s most dangerous areas, where former child soldiers had organized themselves into gangs of armed robbers. Missionaries brought them food and began organizing soccer tournaments among them. Many of them accepted Christ as Savior. Their leader and 13 others became members of the church the ministry planted in their community.

Provide Critical Aid to Vulnerable Refugees in Africa
Because of ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, vulnerable women, children, and elderly people have fled to several bordering countries. Local missionaries visited one group of refugees and were deeply moved by the suffering they witnessed. Now, they request assistance providing critical resources, such as food, clean water, shelter, medical aid, and psychosocial support to those they have encountered. A donation of any amount will help with this need. Pray for those who have been traumatized by violence.

Stand Alongside Persecuted Believers in Africa
After a young Muslim woman encountered a local ministry’s outreach team, she began attending church and gave her life to Christ. But she soon began receiving threats from family members because of her new faith. The local church helped her, providing her with food as well as spiritual and emotional support. “Today, she is a regular part of our discipleship group and growing in faith,” the ministry leader said. Provide Vital Resources to Refugees in Africa
Missionaries from a local ministry recently provided much-needed support to 72 vulnerable refugees, including the distribution of beans, maize flour, flour for making porridge, rice, and soap. “The benefiting families were overwhelmed with joy,” the ministry leader said. “Most of them were hardly affording one meal per day, and some of them even have malnourished children because of an unbalanced diet of insufficient food. This reestablished hope and smiles in 18 families as people who would not have eaten got enough food to eat.” Donations of $35 or $70 help provide critical, life-sustaining support to refugees.

Train Students for Ministry Work in Africa
Eleven students are currently enrolled at a local ministry's Bible school and are studying the letters of Timothy in preparation for future ministry work. "Our prayer is that God is developing a new generation of young Timothys full of faith and integrity to build a strong church in this country," the ministry leader said. In addition to this discipleship, the students are also learning skills such as leatherwork, carpentry, and tailoring so they can support themselves. Your donations help train missionaries.

Extend Christ’s Love To Women in Uganda
During a six-month period, three mothers intent on aborting their babies chose instead to continue with their pregnancies because of the compassion they received from local Christian ministers. The ministry’s medical team has saved the lives of many unborn babies because of the Christian counseling they provide to the women who seek their help. “God’s Word has caused a great transformation in the women in our community,” the ministry leader said. Recently, two women began prenatal care, and one delivered her child under care of the medical team. Donations of $35 or $70 will help for such compassionate aid. Pray that people will continue to be transformed by God’s grace.

Support Sustainability Projects in Zimbabwe
Ministry workers taught a group of women in one community the importance of saving money and, after eight months, the women compiled their savings and hired a company to drill for water in their village. Previously, water was scarce, but now, the people can cook, plant vegetables, do their laundry, and practice improved hygiene. Christian leaders see the continued growth of the women’s ministry, and they focus much of their teaching on the value of entrepreneurship. Donations of $25 or $50 help local ministries with community engagement projects such as these. Pray for the gospel to take root through sustainability ventures in these communities.
